PERIODONTICS

Periodontics is the part of dentistry that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the gums (tissue that holds the tooth). These treatments usually last at least a year, so it is vital to perform periodic follow-ups.

How is gum disease treated?

The main objective of periodontal disease treatment is to control the infection. The number and types of treatments will vary depending on the extent of the gum disease. Any type of dental treatment requires the patient to maintain good daily care at home. The dentist may also suggest changing certain behaviors, such as quitting smoking, as a way to improve the outcome of gum disease treatment.

ENDODONTICS

The most common indications for a root canal in our dental clinic are

In Alvarado Dental Clinic we bet on composite resin filling, with this type of material we can achieve a restoration of the tooth colored piece. This dental treatment when placed in the piece, it is self hardening or hardened by light at mouth temperature.

TMJ is the joint that connects the base of the skull with the jaw (Temporomandibular Joint).

TMJ is the expression used to name any condition or disorder of this joint (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction).

The pathology of the TMJ totally unbalances the masticatory system and if it is not treated, it can lead to severe consequences in the rest of the body with constant pain that cannot be explained. The symptoms may be different in each patient: chronic headache, clicking when opening and closing, limitation in opening, neck and shoulder pain, fatigue, tingling in arm and shoulder, etc.

In order to make an accurate diagnosis, a complete buco-dental analysis, orthopantomography, Tac and physical examination must be performed.

The appropriate treatments to solve these problems must be understood in a multidisciplinary framework, that is, combining different techniques with new protocols of action, manual therapies (physiotherapy), positioning splints, total or partial rehabilitations.

Each case is unique and must be treated as such.
